I think they are call "dates"? One of my fav food when I was in China. So happy to found them this time again ! 
Sweet corn !! My favourite ! Surprisingly the ones at Yunnan taste pretty sweet as compared to the ones i get from Dalian 
They actually put our nationality on the receipt ? Hmmmm
